- From Planned Parenthood to Catholicism - a conversion story

Catherine Adair was a Planned Parenthood 'counselor', but still didn't understand what went on there. Not until 1997, when she saw a jar of body parts in the back room. It was a long road ahead, but in the end, she found the truth and returned to the Church she'd left as a child.

- Yet Another Planned Parenthood manager becomes pro-life!

Sue Thayer, former Planned Parenthood manager from Storm Lake, Iowa, spoke out publicly about her 17 years of working inside Planned Parenthood and witnessing -- first hand -- how the organization was aggressively striving to INCREASE their abortion numbers.

As someone who had believed the lie that Planned Parenthood was all about "preventing abortions," Sue voiced her concerns about this within Planned Parenthood ... and they promptly fired her.

After a time of healing from her experiences, Sue took a leap of faith this fall ...... and LED the 40 Days for Life campaign ... ... outside the Planned Parenthood center she used to manage!

- Abortion Mill to be replaced by a Pregnancy Resource Center!

Family Planning Medical Clinic in La Puente, California, recently closed its doors for good after the 40 Days for Life campaign's encouraged people to pray in front of the clinic.

Norma Murakami, executive director of A Women's Care Center in Chino Hills, tells OneNewsNow that the clinic will be transformed into a pregnancy resource center for which she is currently negotiating a lease.

- Another Planned Parenthood manager quits and converts to pro-life!

DALLAS, Texas, August 25, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a story with clear echoes of the now famous conversion of former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson, four months ago a manager at a Planned Parenthood facility in Sherman, Texas resigned from her position with the abortion giant and is now speaking out about her pro-life conversion.

In a press release from 40 Days for Life-Dallas, Ramona Trevino explains that although the particular Planned Parenthood where she worked did not perform surgical abortions, she was struggling “with [her] conscience . . . on contraception, abortion and [her] role in it all.”

Just like Abby Johnson, Trevino credits a 40 Days for Life campaign outside her Planned Parenthood facility with helping her movement towards a pro-life way of thinking.

- American Life League Associate group Texoma Pro-Life Association sends the good news of the week:

After 7 years of prayer, petitions, and hard work, the Planned Parenthood facility in Sherman, TX, is shutting its doors. They are scheduled to close on August 23, 2011.

We ask for prayers for the former employees of the Sherman Planned Parenthood facility and we give all the glory and praise to God for this amazing accomplishment.

Since the inception of Texoma Pro-Life Association, its stated goal was to shut down the Sherman Planned Parenthood facility.

The facility closed in the wake of $58 million dollars of funding cuts in Texas, which prompted the closure of a cluster of Planned Parenthood facilities. Other Texas Planned Parenthood facilities on the chopping block include Gainesville, Plano, Waxahachie, Mesquite, Arlington North, and Terrell.

Congratulations to the dedicated prayer warriors of Texoma Pro-Life Association and other Texans whose prayer and hard work resulted in the defunding and closure of the Sherman facility.

- Victory: NJ Governor again vetoes $7.5 million in family planning funds, most of which would go to PP

Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey again this week used his veto power to keep $7.5 million, most of which was headed for Planned Parenthood, out of the state budget. This is at least the fourth time in the past year that the New Jersey legislature has failed in its attempts to restore the funding. Democrats supporting the funding do not have the two-thirds majority necessary to override the veto.

Congratulations once again to Governor Chris Christie and the people of New Jersey for keeping hard earned tax dollars out of the hands of the abortion behemoth.

The importance of electing governors, legislators and representatives at every level who will stand their ground in the battle to defund Planned Parenthood cannot be overstated.

- 2 more abortion mills close for lack of customers!

Six Rivers Planned Parenthood announced the closure of its Weaverville, CA facility effective Thursday, April 14, 2011. "For quite some time, this health center has been struggling with decreased patient volume and increased costs," a Planned Parenthood official said. The Weaverville Center was a part-time facility that did not offer on-site abortions and obviously was not a profitable venture.

In Nevada, Planned Parenthood officials announced the upcoming closure of its Peckham Center in Reno, once again due to a lack of patients. A Planned Parenthood spokesperson said its two Reno facilities saw 20 percent fewer clients in 2010 than the previous year.

The closures are in keeping with Planned Parenthood's business model of closing down unprofitable centers and focusing its resources on its profitable abortion business, which provides more than 40 percent of its clinic income.

Congratulations to California and Nevada pro-life advocates for turning up the heat and exposing Planned Parenthood at every turn! The lack of Planned Parenthood customers that prompted these closures is one more affirmation that people don't need or want Planned Parenthood in their communities.

- Abortion mill closes for lack of customers!

YNN.com reports that Planned Parenthood in Gouverneur, NY is closed permanently for lack of patients. During the summer, Planned Parenthood closed the facility, which was only open two days a week, purportedly to repair water damage caused by a roof leak, and never reopened.

To paraphrase a slogan from the 60's, suppose there was an abortion mill and nobody came!

- Black pastors to celebrate civil rights of unborn on Martin Luther King Day

The part of our population most devastated by abortion, yet which continues to overwhelmingly support the Party of Death, may be waking up at last. A group of black pastors is planning a celebration to draw attention to the next step in the civil rights movement: dignity and equal protection for unborn children. Sponsored by Pro-Life Mississippi, the Festival for Life will take place January 17 at 4pm at the Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, where students and other guests will view several pro-life films and hear remarks from pro-life pastors.

Pastor Joseph Parker of Campbell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal church in Pulaski, Tennessee, told LifeSiteNews.com that “clearly we see the life issue as a civil rights issue, but tragically, the other side has never wanted it to be seen as such.” Parker’s associates include Rev. Walter Hoye, a black pastor who was arrested for peaceful pro-life witness outside an Oakland, California abortion clinic in May 2008.

- Chalk Up One More Victory For Adult Stem Cells

Although much-touted embryonic stem cells have so far produced nothing but tumors, adult stem cells have contributed to yet another amazing cure. A team of researchers has claimed that a German patient has been cured of both HIV and leukemia after receiving a bone marrow transplant that included stem cells from an HIV-resistant donor.

“Our results strongly suggest that cure of HIV has been achieved in this patient,” wrote the authors from the Charite-University Medicine Berlin, in the pre-released article on the website of the journal Blood.

- Survey Shows 31 Abortion Centers Closed Over Last 12 Months

While the pro-life movement longs for the day unborn children can be protected under the law from abortions, a new survey of the number of abortion centers nationwide shows it is possible to make a difference now.

Despite the Supreme Court having allowed virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason via the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions, the pro-life community has been successful in getting abortion centers to close.

- Breakthrough! Blood can now be produced from skin cells.

Scientists at McMaster’s stem cell research institute in Hamilton, Ontario, have found a way to create blood from skin, a significant breakthrough that could have broad implications for medicine. Among the first applications McMaster will pursue is to eliminate the need for bone-marrow registries that seek to match cancer patients to donors against very long odds. Instead, the new process could turn patients into their own ideal donors, said McMaster vice-president and dean of health sciences John Kelton, himself a hematologist.

- Judge stops federal funding of embryonic stem cell research

Washington (CNN) -- A U.S. district judge granted a preliminary injunction Monday to stop federal funding of embryonic stem cell research that he said destroys embryos, ruling it went against the will of Congress.

The ruling by Judge Royce C. Lamberth was a blow to the Obama administration, which last year issued guidelines to allow federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.

Lamberth's ruling said all embryonic stem cell research involves destroying embryos, which violates the Dickey-Wicker Amendment included in federal spending bills.

- Old Abortion Clinic Now Center For Pregnant Teens

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- An old abortion clinic on Laurens Road in Greenville had a new tenant on Wednesday. Little Steps is a center for pregnant teenagers and young parents.

When the organization took over the building in March it was a dilapidated, moldy mess. But with the help of volunteers from Newspring Church, they have turned the dingy space into a playroom for children and classrooms for their parents.

The teenage moms and dads take classes to earn "baby bucks." They use the bucks to buy things like clothes, diapers, toys and baby food.

- AP Surprises With Article Noting Adult Stem Cell Research Outpacing Embryonic

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Associated Press surprised readers with a new story on the contrasts between adult and embryonic stem cell research and a headline indicating what pro-life advocates have long known: the use of adult stem cell research is helping patients now and far outpacing embryonic studies.

"For all the emotional debate that began about a decade ago on allowing the use of embryonic stem cells, it's adult stem cells that are in human testing today. An extensive review of stem cell projects and interviews with two dozen experts reveal a wide range of potential treatments," AP admitted.

A few of the examples highlighted include multiple sclerosis, heart damage, juvenile diabetes, and blindness from chemical burns.

"Apart from these efforts, transplants of adult stem cells have become a standard lifesaving therapy for perhaps hundreds of thousands of people with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood diseases," AP noted.

Dr. David Scadden of Harvard told the news service that the ability of adult stem cells to help patients with a wide range of diseases and conditions helps it stand out from embryonic, which has never helped a single person.

- God’s Power Working Through His Priests

Rockford, IL July 16, 2010 - Before the Northern Illinois Women's Center opened on Friday morning to end the lives of children in the womb, four Catholic Priests firmly stationed themselves at all four corners around the abortion mill and began praying the powerful prayers of the Church found in Fr. Thomas Euteneuer's book Exorcism and the Church Militant........

Almost immediately upon the Priests' beginning their prayers in unison, the landlord of the abortion business came out of the building like a shot. He wandered back and forth around the parking lot. Then he roamed the sidewalks, calling the Priests and pro-lifers names.

It certainly seemed that while the Priests were surrounding the abortion mill with prayer, the landlord, who is well-known for his dislike of the Christian religion and Catholic Priests, could not stand to be inside the building.

- Another one bites the dust

Another abortion mill closed this summer. Beacon Women’s Center in Montgomery, AL announced on June 11 that it would close. The center had a long history of health and safety deficiencies on record with the Alabama Department of Public Health. They signed a consent decree agreeing to close in order to avoid a hearing leading to the revocation of their license.

In 1991, there were nearly 2,200 abortion clinics. Today there are just 713. The pro-life movement should take encouragement in the fact that since 1991 over two-thirds of all abortion clinics have permanently closed.

- 'Ultrasound Jesus' to herald true meaning of Christmas in UK

London, England, Jul 2, 2010 / 02:12 pm (CNA).- Though Christmas is still six months away, the organization ChurchAds.net has chosen the design for its Christmas ad campaign. The selected design, called "Ultrasound Jesus," depicts an ultrasound image of an unborn baby with a halo above his head and the caption, “He's on His way. Christmas starts with Christ.” The image quickly angered pro-abortion and atheists groups with its alleged pro-life sentiments.

ChurchAds.net is a British marketing and advertising organization that brings together various Christian denominations such as Anglicans, Methodists and Baptists. The Catholic Church is not part of the group.

The authors state that they want to spread the true meaning and origin of Christmas. It is estimated that the ad will reach over 40 million people in the weeks before Christmas.

- One More Closed

RALEIGH, North Carolina, June 23, 2010 (from LifeSiteNews.com) - A Raleigh abortuary that has seen constant prayer from pro-lifers with the popular 40 Days for Life campaign has ceased performing abortions.

The Raleigh News and Observer reported Wednesday that National Women's Health Organization of Raleigh is, in the words of one local pro-abortion affiliate, "in transition." The affiliate, Ann Rose, said that the last abortions would be conducted on Saturday, but she would not explain what other changes the “transition” would entail.

The paper reports that the abortuary was generally thought to be for sale after its founder, pro-abortion activist Susan Hill, passed away of breast cancer in February. There are two other facilities in Raleigh where abortions are performed.

David Bereit, the national director of 40 Days for Life, praised the end of the destruction of unborn life at a building where prayer witnesses with the nationwide campaign have kept vigil. North Carolina was one of the first states ever to conduct a 40 Days for Life campaign.

"Even as we praise God for this victory, pray that this center, which has done so much harm, completely closes and that the workers experience conversions!" said Bereit.

Bereit also lauded statistics cited by the News and Observer story, which show that abortions have been declining in North Carolina; the abortion rate dropped 4.6% between 2007 and 2008.

"Your prayers and faithful efforts continue to bear great fruit!" Bereit told supporters.

- The Blind See!

Score another miracle for adult stem cell research!

Dozens of people who were blinded or otherwise suffered severe eye damage when they were splashed with caustic chemicals had their sight restored with transplants of their own stem cells — a stunning success for the burgeoning cell-therapy field, Italian researchers reported Wednesday.

The treatment worked completely in 82 of 107 eyes and partially in 14 others, with benefits lasting up to a decade so far. One man whose eyes were severely damaged more than 60 years ago now has near-normal vision.

"This is a roaring success," said ophthalmologist Dr. Ivan Schwab of the University of California, Davis, who had no role in the study — the longest and largest of its kind.

- The Guardian Angel of Suicide Gap

SYDNEY — In those bleak moments when the lost souls stood atop the cliff, wondering whether to jump, the sound of the wind and the waves was broken by a soft voice. "Why don't you come and have a cup of tea?" the stranger would ask. And when they turned to him, his smile was often their salvation.

For almost 50 years, Don Ritchie has lived across the street from Australia's most notorious suicide spot, a rocky cliff at the entrance to Sydney Harbour called The Gap. And in that time, the man widely regarded as a guardian angel has shepherded countless people away from the edge.

- 2 More Lives Saved

Mary Bauman, who prays and counsels outside Planned Parenthood NE, reported that 2 girls changed their minds last Wednesday because of the prayerful presence of faithful Christians. "Financial problems and other children were the reason one couple went to the abortion mill in the first place. Our prayers and presence made it all possible for them to leave the abortion mill. So please come out and help another girl change her mind too."

- An Abortionist Turns to Mercy

Dr. John Bruchalski was an abortionist, believing that he was doing an unpleasant but necessary thing. One day he heard a voice saying "Why are you hurting me?". In 1994, he founded the Tepeyac Family Center in Fairfax, VA with the mission of establishing an obstetrical and gynecological facility that combines the best of modern medicine with the healing presence of Jesus Christ—providing affordable healthcare to women, in particular, those with crisis pregnancies. In 2000, he founded Divine Mercy Care, a non-profit organization performing spiritual and corporal works of mercy in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and is currently the Chairman of its Board of Directors. In 2005, Tepeyac Family Center became a part of Divine Mercy Care and currently operates as the first Catholic health care facility in the Diocese of Arlington.

- The Camera Doesn't Lie: Ultrasound Changes American Opinion on Abortion

As the saying goes, the camera doesn't lie. When young women considering an abortion see an ultrasound of their baby, about 80 percent choose to continue the pregnancy. Pro-abortion arguments crumble when they see a beating heart and tiny, growing body.

- And The Deaf Will Hear

From The Daily Mail:
Gurgling in a mix of wonder and joy, this is the incredible moment a child hears his mother's voice for the first time. Eight-month-old Jonathan was born deaf and had cochlear implants put into his ears so he could hear. His father filmed the tear-jerking moment they were turned on for the first time, capturing the amazement in the boy's face as he heard his mother's voice saying his name.
