Innocent No MoreAn Arizona college student who stopped in at her workplace wearing a pro-life t-shirt quit her job rather than obey a supervisor who ordered her to turn the “Pray to End Abortion” shirt inside out. Renise Rodriguez, a 21-year-old religious studies major at the University of Arizona, worked as a Girl Experience Associate for the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona in Tucson. When she went to her office on Jan. 3 during her off-duty hours to prepare materials for a meeting, she was told twice by a supervisor that if she planned to stay in the office, or attend a troop meeting, she would have to turn her shirt inside out. “I started to get emotional because of the way I was treated so I left without preparing for the meeting and told my co-worker that she would have to get the stuff together,” Miss Rodriguez said. “As I was driving out, I called a friend crying and told her the story. I was so shocked at the way I was treated. After contemplating it for the rest of that day, I decided to write my letter of resignation.” Her letter did not specify her reason for resigning, but she plans to discuss it with another supervisor when she does her formal exit interview. “It is the courage and conviction of young people like Renise that gives us hope that we are closer than ever to winning this battle and bringing an end to child killing in America,” said Bryan Kemper, Director of Youth Outreach for Priests for Life. “Young heroes like Renise prove this generation is a pro-life generation.” source:LifeSiteNews.comThe Christmas Story from St Paul's on Vimeo. A New Zealand NativityFrom Planned Parenthood to Catholicism - a conversion storyThe room in the back of the clinic was quiet but Catherine’s mind was screaming. There was a baby in a jar. Arms. Leg. Fingers! There was a baby in a jar! She knew she had to get out of there. Fast. She couldn’t look at it one moment longer. It? Catherine Adair had spent the previous year working at Planned Parenthood convincing women that despite what they thought, that wasn’t a baby growing in their womb. It was a…an…it. And it required a “procedure” as she called it back then. She’d spent the previous year accepting payment for abortions and “counseling” young women in the bright office and working as a medical assistant for first trimester abortions. But one day in 1997 everything changed. She was asked to clean up the room from a second-trimester abortion. She had never been in that room before, and even though she had “counseled” other women about the procedure, she had no idea what it really entailed. Read her story here A Common Sleeping Pill May Bring Hope to Long-Term Coma PatientsThe well known sleeping pill, Ambien, and its generic twin, zolpidem, have been shown , in some cases, to help patients in 'persistent vegetative state'. According to the New York Times, 'A growing body of case reports suggests that the popular sleep aid can have a profound — and paradoxical — effect on patients like Chris. Rather than put them to sleep, both Ambien and its generic twin, zolpidem, appear to awaken at least some of them. The early reports were so pronounced that until recently, doctors had a hard time believing them. Only now, more than a decade after the initial discovery, are they taking a closer look. 'This year, scientists at Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute and at the University of Pennsylvania, both in the Philadelphia area, began the first large-scale clinical study of zolpidem as a treatment for disorders of consciousness. (Amantadine, a drug used to treat Parkinson’s disease, and the anti-anxiety medication Ativan also show promise in increasing awareness in minimally conscious patients.) So far, the evidence suggests that less than 10 percent of brain-injured patients will experience the drug’s paradoxical effects, and that among those, only a few will respond as profoundly as Viljoen did. For families like the Coxes, such odds provide a tortured kind of hope. For doctors, they bring questions. Why does a sleeping pill induce awareness in some patients but not others? And what can these bizarre awakenings tell us about the brain’s ability to heal? As someone who had believed the lie that Planned Parenthood was all about "preventing abortions," Sue voiced her concerns about this within Planned Parenthood ... and they promptly fired her. After a time of healing from her experiences, Sue took a leap of faith this fall ...... and LED the 40 Days for Life campaign ... ... outside the Planned Parenthood center she used to manage! 2 More Abortion Mills CloseSince the last 40 Days for Life campaign ended, two more abortion centers where 40 Days for Life vigils have been conducted have shut their doors and CLOSED! In PENSACOLA, FLORIDA, volunteers arriving to pray at the abortion center found a sheriff's notice on the front door of the facility. Legal proceedings had begun against the abortion business, and a judge ordered the center CLOSED. In FOREST GROVE, OREGON, the local 40 Days for Life team confirmed that the owner of the abortion center had CLOSED this facility -- and one of his other locations as well. Volunteers told me the signs are down, the building is empty -- and a phone call confirmed the permanent closure. This makes SIXTEEN abortion centers where 40 Days for Life vigils have occurred that have SHUT DOWN. Keep Praying!source: 40daysforlife.comFormer Planned Parenthood Director Converts to Pro-LifeSherman, Texas Planned Parenthood Clinic director Ramona Trevino credits her conversion to pro-lifers praying outside her clinic.Prayer changes hearts. Keep praying! No, this is not a joke:Dozens of pro-life groups are calling on pro-life Americans to boycott PepsiCo because it has contracted with a company that uses fetal cells from babies victimized by abortions to test and produce artificial flavor enhancers. LifeNews.com reported on the controversy in March when information came to light showing biotech company Senomyx was found to be testing their food additives using fetal cells from abortions. Senomyx ignored a letter from the pro-life group Children of God for Life, which complained about its practices. 'The company’s key flavor programs focus on the discovery and development of savory, sweet and salt flavor ingredients that are intended to allow for the reduction of MSG, sugar and salt in food and beverage products,' the Senomyx web site says. 'Using isolated human taste receptors, we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor.' Debi Vinnedge, of the pro-life group, explained, 'What they don’t tell the public is that they are using HEK 293 – human embryonic kidney cells taken from an electively aborted baby to produce those receptors. They could have easily chosen animal, insect, or other morally obtained human cells expressing the G protein for taste receptors.' For further information: click here
Amid the increasing secularization of Europe, the government of Hungary has written and approved a new constitution that acknowledges God and enshrines the right to life! Here is the beginning: We, the members of the Hungary Nation, assert our responsibility to say the following for all Hungary at the beginning of the millennium: We are proud of the fact that our King Stephen, the Saintly Patron of the Hungarian State for a thousand years had built a secure foundation and placed our Fatherland in the line of Christian Europe. We are proud of our forebears, who persisted for that, who have fought for the freedom and independence of our Land. We are proud of the great spiritual accomplishments of the Hungarian people. We are proud that our people had defended Europe for a thousand years and whose common values were enriched by their talents and enriched its industry. We recognize the role of Christianity in the persistence of the Nation. Concerning the unborn, it goes on to say The value of human life is unfathomable. Every person has the right to life and human value; the life of the foetus is protected from conception to birth. source: The Occidental ObserverA Christian organization called Samaritan Ministries is starting an exciting new project. The Morning Center is a FREE maternity hospital. In their own words: 'For too many women facing a life-changing pregnancy, after Christian churches and ministries urge her not to abort the life that is within them, the only financial “help” they receive is a recommendation to apply for a government program. It is time for the Body of Christ to offer loving, quality maternity care in Jesus’ Name to anyone who needs it—-free of charge. The Morning Center is the next step in the pro-life movement. Together, we can bring a new day in maternity care and lavish the love of Christ on women and unborn children who desperately need it. We plan to establish our first Morning Center in a major city during the coming 18 months. Will you join us in this groundbreaking effort? We want to change health care with The Morning Center, a full-service, unashamedly Christian maternity hospital.' An interesting idea, and worth investigating.
